An anonymous Petersburger launched the “ Memory hole ” project. It leaves in commemorative places anonymous messages in the form of stickers depicting a hole in the chest and two grave flowers. "Paper" spoke with the creator of the project.

Petersburger told the “Paper” that she had long wanted to do something on the topic of a mental emptiness, which for her feels like a hole in her chest. This spring, she briefly returned to Petersburg, where she has not been living for five years, and the idea "has a crystallized itself." She adds that she has many memories associated with the city - they wanted to fix them in this way.

Petersburger says that the “hole” is a “ridiculous” word that reduces the pathos of a rather dramatic project. And “memory” is about events, people and stories that are important to her.

The project is anonymous for several reasons, says Petersburger. According to her, to express themselves creatively and “showing your vulnerability” “easier anonymously”. The girl adds that she is not an artist, and she wants the project to be perceived in isolation from her personality.

Now the author leaves the “memory holes” in St. Petersburg, with whom “not only for themselves, but also for those who left and cannot return.” She says that she herself would like to return to Petersburg again, but she understands that this may not happen in her whole life.

The project will be implemented all over the world, the girl intends to devote the next series to emigrants. “The spiritual emptiness in emigration becomes just huge. I think she unites us all. I would like to convey greetings, leave Easter cities in different cities of the world to those who feel the same as me, ”she summarizes.
