“I attempted to set fire to the front door.” A 60-year-old resident of Komi, who unsuccessfully tried to set fire to the military registration and enlistment office, was arrested on charges of attempted terrorist attack

The Usinsk City Court of the Komi Republic arrested 60-year-old local resident Nadezhda Kornilova until June 10, 2023 on charges of attempted terrorist attack. This was reported by the press service of the court.

According to investigators, in April of this year, Kornilova "made an attempt to set fire to the front door" of the building of the military registration and enlistment office of the Usinsky district. At the same time, the security forces claim that the woman acted “in order to destabilize the activities of the authorities or influence their decision-making.”

According to the local publication Komiinform, citing her own sources in the police, Kornilova came to the military registration and enlistment office building and brought with her two Molotov cocktails. After throwing the first of them, the contents of the Molotov cocktail did not ignite, and the woman threw the second bottle, completely forgetting to set it on fire.

As a result, the fire never happened, and an elderly woman working as a maid in one of the local cleaning companies was detained by a policeman who was guarding the draft board.
