A Muscovite, previously arrested because of the Azov regiment's chevron on his headband, was fined under the article on "discrediting" the army

The Cheryomushkinsky District Court of Moscow fined local resident Yuri Samoilov under the article on “discrediting” the army (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code). Information about this was published on the court’s website, and Mediazona drew attention to it.

The exact amount of the fine is unknown; the court’s press service did not respond to Mediazona’s calls. The man’s posts on Odnoklassniki became the reason for bringing him to administrative responsibility.

As follows from the court ruling, Samoilov published several videos criticizing the invasion of Ukraine and left a negative comment about the Russian military under the video “Soldiers of the CENTER 2022 group . ” In particular, in the commentary he wrote: “There you, racist creatures, are on your way to heaven.” The video itself, set to Vladimir Vysotsky’s song “Soldiers of the Center Group,” shows footage from the war in Ukraine.

Also on Samoilov’s Odnoklassniki page were posted an anti-war video clip from the group “Nogu Svelo!” — “Back, Russia” and a video from the Ukrainian TV channel ICTV called “The Final Accord of the Russian Federation. The breakthrough of a bloody dictator that did not happen - Civil Defense.”

At the end of March, Samoilov was arrested for 14 days after a metro passenger complained about the content on his phone - then he was found guilty under the article on distributing prohibited symbols (Article 20.29 of the Administrative Code). The reason for the protocol was the chevron of the Ukrainian Azov regiment on the phone screensaver. The denunciation of the Muscovite was written by a metro passenger named Ermakov. According to him, the man “showed” the picture for “one minute.” This was confirmed by two witnesses.

After the arrest, the security forces examined Samoilov’s phone, after which they drew up a new protocol - about “discrediting” the army. During the court hearing in the first administrative case, Samoilov said that his attitude towards the war in Ukraine changed after watching the YouTube channels of Michael Naki and the TV channel. He began publishing anti-war videos on Odnoklassniki and made the Azov chevron his screensaver “to protest against the special military operation.” At the same time, according to the court ruling in the case of “discrediting” the armed forces, Samoilov said at the meeting that he was “neutral” about the war in Ukraine and was not interested in the events taking place there.
