In 2022, the courts fined Russians 151,257,500 rubles for protocols on “discrediting” the army, according to a report by the Judicial Department of the Supreme Court. Mediazona drew attention to these data.
Over the past year, the courts received 5,622 administrative cases of “discrediting” the military (Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code). They imposed 4,439 fines and issued one warning. In total, decisions in the amount of 117,391,500 rubles came into force.
In addition to individuals, 12 legal entities, 15 officials and eight entrepreneurs without forming a legal entity were fined under Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses in 2022. The judge imposed a fine less than the minimum 134 times.
According to Mediazona, by mid-April 2023, district courts had already received more than 6,500 protocols.
