The Ministry of Transport of Russia warned of a possible increase in the cost of air tickets to internal flights by 15-30% in connection with a decrease in transportation subsidies in the summer season of 2023. This was announced by the deputy head of the department, Igor Chalik, reports Interfax.

According to the official, it has not yet been made to allocate subsidies by analogy with the year 2022, in which the air carriers received 100 billion rubles from the budget.

The deputy head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Vladimir Potheshkin said that a decrease in the volume of state consumtion has already led to a reduction in the number of flights, including the inaccessible regions of Russia.

The summer season in aviation is valid from the end of March to the end of October. Last year, 100 billion rubles received from the state to cover expenses during domestic transport during this period. The money was allocated against the background of sanctions restrictions introduced after the start of the full -scale invasion of Russia to Ukraine.
In early April 2023, the Air Transport Association turned to the Ministry of Transport with a proposal to extend subsidies to air carriers for the next summer season. Carriers asked for 100 billion rubles.
