State Duma deputies adopted the next package of repressive laws, which can affect Russians, including for online activity.

Laws on "the protection of citizens of the Russian Federation from international bodies whose decisions are contrary to national legislation have been adopted. Many media and opposition politicians associate the adoption of these amendments to the arrest of Vladimir Putin, issued by the International Criminal Court (MUS) in the Hague .

“The punishment has been introduced up to 5 years in prison for assisting in the execution of decisions of interstate organizations on the criminal prosecution of our military personnel and volunteers, officials of public authorities,” said the State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin. “The President of the Russian Federation is vested with additional powers to protect our country and citizens in the case of foreign structures of illegal decisions or the implementation of actions directed against the Russian Federation.”

According to the proposed amendments to the Federal Law “On Security”, the President of Russia is endowed with the authority to take measures to protect the Russian Federation and its citizens “in the case of foreign and (or) international (interstate) bodies (organizations) of decisions or the implementation of actions that contradict the interests of the Russian Federation and (or) the fundamentals of the public law and order of the Russian Federation”.

According to amendments to the Criminal Code, it will be supplemented by the new article 284.3. Thus, for providing assistance in the implementation of decisions of international organizations, of which Russia is not a member, or foreign state bodies on the criminal prosecution of officials of public authorities of the Russian Federation in connection with the exercise of official activities, as well as other persons in connection with the passage of military service or being in voluntary formations contributing to the fulfillment of the tasks assigned to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, will threaten a penalty in the amount of 300 thousand to 1 million rubles or imprisonment for up to five years.

The next law, which will have serious consequences for civil society and that can be interpreted in the widest form - the law on Stateizer.

According to new amendments , the term of conclusion for state treason is increased to life . Now the maximum punishment is up to 20 years of the colony.

An amendment was adopted, which provides for the deprivation of the acquired citizenship of Russia “for public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, maintain international peace and security, the execution of their powers to the state bodies of the Russian Federation, the provision of volunteer formations, organizations or persons of assistance in the fulfillment of the tasks assigned to the RF Armed Forces (280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)”.

According to the amendment , they will be able to deprive the citizenship of the Russian Federation and for crimes committed under Article 280.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - violation of the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation. Among the others, an amendment was also approved on deprivation of citizenship for the implementation of activities on the territory of the Russian Federation of a foreign or international non -governmental organization, in respect of which a decision was made to recognize its unwanted activities in the territory of the Russian Federation (Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code).
