A court in Moscow fined a 70-year-old pensioner for “discrediting” the army. While in the sanatorium, she loudly praised Vladimir Zelensky, after which she was reported to the police

The Shcherbinsky District Court of Moscow fined 70-year-old pensioner Olga Slegina 40 thousand rubles under the article on “discrediting” the Russian army (20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). It is reported by "OVD-Info". Being treated at a sanatorium on December 24, 2022, Slegina said out loud that the Ukrainians are great, as they are defending their country. She also called the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky an intelligent and handsome man.

Three days later, a security officer in civilian clothes came to the sanatorium to see the pensioner. He copied Slegina's passport data and left. Then the police arrived at the medical institution and took the pensioner to the department. There she was forced to show the contents of her smartphone, threatening with arrest for 15 days. Not finding anything interesting on Slegina’s phone, she was interrogated: they asked questions about where she was from and whether she had relatives in Ukraine.

According to OVD-Info, two waitresses of the sanatorium and a retired employee of the Federal Penitentiary Service, who was vacationing in this institution, informed Slegina. The police filed a report on the “discrediting” of the Russian army against the woman. At the same time, in the document, words were attributed to her that she did not utter, the pensioner told OVD-Info. In particular, in the protocol, the woman was charged with the phrase that “Zelensky will soon take over Russia and everyone will feel bad.” Slegina signed the protocol because she can't see well without glasses. She later learned about the contents of the document from the security forces. After the protocol was drawn up, the woman was taken to the Nalchik city court, but the judge was not there and Slegina was released.

As a result, the meeting took place in the Shcherbinsky District Court of Moscow on April 18. According to OVD-Info, it lasted about five minutes. The judge refused lawyer Slegina's request to postpone the meeting due to the pensioner's poor health. The judge said that if a woman “is not in intensive care,” then this is not a valid reason for the transfer.
