More than seven thousand Ukrainian troops are considered missing, the Commissioner for Persons who disappeared under special circumstances Oleg Kotenko said on the air of the Ukrainian telemarathon.

“There really is such a figure, it is a little more than seven thousand. We hope that those people whom we are looking for as missing are still in captivity, ”Kotenko said.
According to him, according to statistics, about 65% of missing are alive and are captured, the rest were killed.
Kotenko added that in about a month the law on the collection of DNA material from the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will earn in order to facilitate the identification of the bodies of the dead. DNA examinations will be carried out at the expense of the state budget.
On Sunday, Ukraine and Russia held another exchange of prisoners of war. According to the Ukrainian Coordinating headquarters on the exchange of prisoners of war, 48 out of 130 Ukrainian troops returned home were considered missing.
