TASS: Former Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Yarilova was detained in Moscow

In Moscow, investigators detained the former Deputy Minister of Culture of Russia, Olga Yarilova, in a criminal case on embezzlement of more than 200 million rubles while participating in the Pushkin Map project. Olga Yarilova served as Deputy Minister of Culture from 2018 to 2022. She left the post of her own free will.

• In early March, the Investigative Committee announced that it was investigating a criminal case of fraud on an especially large scale, committed using the Pushkin Cards. Residents of the Moscow region Viktor Yakubov, Emil Gurbanov and Ilya Safonov are involved in the case. The investigation believes that in 2022 they used fictitious "Pushkin cards" issued by Post Bank, deceived the employees of the bank and the Ministry of Culture, and stole 200 million rubles. To do this, they organized a mass purchase of tickets, but did not hold any events. All three suspects are under arrest.
• The Pushkin Card program was launched on September 1, 2021. They can be obtained by Russians aged 14 to 22 inclusive. Using a card with a face value of five thousand rubles, they can pay for trips to theaters, museums and cinemas.
