Political scientist, head of the “Club of Regions” Sergei Starovoytov writes :

“The quote from director Boyakov (a friend of Prilepin) about the need to deprive women of the right to vote is now being actively promoted as an example of the savagery of Russian ultra-conservatives. Together with a number of other statements of this kind (initiatives by Mironov, Slutsky, Milonov), this makes it possible to reduce to the point of absurdity, to carnivalize any, even sensible ideas. Drive patriots into the marginal niche of urban madmen. This is fully consistent with the tasks of the next political period - after the Northern Military District, when “angry patriots” will only interfere with state tasks with their activity - therefore it is better to present them as freaks in advance than to use much more radical measures later.”
