A court in Moscow sentenced 8 and 10 years in prison to Omsk prisoners who tried to commit suicide while being detained at an anti-war rally.

The Second Western District Military Court sentenced 10 and 8 years in prison to Omsk residents Anton Zhuchkov and Vladimir Sergeev, whom security forces detained last March at an anti-war rally in Moscow. this reports correspondent A Sota from the courtroom.

Sergeev received the same amount as the prosecutor requested, and Zhuchkov received a year less.

The men were accused of preparing to commit a terrorist act by prior conspiracy (part 1 of article 30; paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 205 of the Criminal Code). In addition, Zhuchkov was charged with illegal production or transfer of drugs in a significant amount (clause “b” of part 3 of article 228.1 of the Criminal Code).

Omsk residents were detained in the center of Moscow on Bolshaya Bronnaya on March 6. The security forces asked to show the contents of the backpack of one of them. While communicating with the police, Zhuchkov and Sergeev took methadone capsules in an attempt to commit suicide. As a result, Molotov cocktails were found on them.

“You sit down, you freaks. You will sit like roosters on the bottle, whore. Creatures, I promise you, you will sit on bubbles, you fucking roosters,” a policeman with the shoulder straps of a lieutenant colonel told the detainees in response to their words about their intention to “set fire to a couple of your flea carriers.”

Subsequently, both men became ill: Zhuchkov on the way to the police department in the Tverskoy district of Moscow, and Sergeev after a medical examination. Doctors diagnosed both of them with methadone poisoning. In addition, Sergeev was diagnosed with a coma and a traumatic brain injury.

10 days after being discharged from the hospital, the men were charged with attempted hooliganism by a group of people using weapons (part 1 of article 30, part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code). Later, the article was tightened on the basis of a certificate from the FSB, in which the friends were described as “convinced supporters of radical anarchist ideology,” which aims to “violently change the foundations of the constitutional system” in Russia.
