A court in Moscow arrested two Belarusian citizens in the case of railway sabotage

Citizens of Belarus Artyom Bressky and Kirill Basko were arrested in the case of sabotage on the railway (clause “b” part 2 of article 281 of the Criminal Code). It is reported by "Mediazona"; the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow received petitions to extend his arrest ( 1 , 2 ).

Young people born in 2003 and 2004 were detained on December 27, 2022 at the Moscow Kurskaya station, the newspaper writes. The investigation believes that on December 22, for a fee, they set fire to an electric locomotive standing in a depot at the Orekhovo-Zuevo station near Moscow.

On the day of detention, December 27, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow imposed fines on Bressky and Basko under the administrative article on petty hooliganism (part 1 of article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Then they were charged with “obscene language” in a public place. The amount of fines is not specified.

And on February 22, the Meshchansky District Court sent young people to a pre-trial detention center in a criminal case on intentional damage to property (part 2 of article 167 of the Criminal Code). The charge was later changed to an article on sabotage.

The hearing on the extension of the term of detention is scheduled for 15:30 on April 24.

  • Since the beginning of a full-scale war with Ukraine, military enlistment offices and administrative buildings, as well as on railway tracks, have been set on fire in various cities of Russia. After the announcement of "partial" mobilization, such arson became more frequent - there are several dozen cases of arson of military registration and enlistment offices and more than 65 detainees in cases of sabotage on the railway. Some of the criminal cases in connection with the burning of military enlistment offices, as well as police departments, the FSB and administrative buildings are listed in our guide to the “anti-war case”. OVD-Info suggests that at least some of these actions were a response to Russian military aggression.
