A court in Moscow arrested in absentia the second defendant in the case of the murder of Daria Dugina

The Basmanny District Court of Moscow arrested in absentia Bogdan Tsyganenko, the second defendant in the case of the murder of the daughter of publicist Alexander Dugin, Daria. Information about this was published on the court’s website, and Mediazona drew attention to the card.

At the end of August, the FSB reported that Tsyganenko, together with his accomplice, Ukrainian citizen Natalya Vovk, organized the murder of Dugina. Vovk herself was arrested in absentia back in November.

According to the intelligence service, Tsyganenko helped Vovk with fake license plates and documents in the name of Kazakh citizen Yulia Zaiko, and together with her assembled a homemade bomb in a rented garage in the south-west of Moscow.

Then Vovk, who arrived in Russia in July with her daughter, personally followed Dugina in the parking lot of the Tradition festival in the Zakharovo estate, drove behind the publicist’s SUV in a Mini Cooper and “detonated the bomb.” Tsyganenko, according to the FSB, left the country the day before the explosion. Previously, he arrived in Russia in transit through Estonia.

Dugina's car was blown up on the evening of August 20. The Investigative Committee established that the bomb was placed under the bottom of the car on the driver's side; the power of the device was estimated at 400 grams of TNT.

In April, a court in Moscow sent former traffic police major Ivan Rybin to pre-trial detention, accused of leaking data, including about Daria Dugina. The case against Rybin was initiated under articles of abuse of power and dissemination of personal data using official position (part 1 of article 286, part 2 of article 137 of the Criminal Code).
