The reason was a certain post that Mezhenny posted on his Telegram channel. The post included a picture of a swastika. In court, the man explained the placement of this publication by saying that, in his opinion, “the Russian Federation is similar to Nazi Germany.”

The court decision noted that the prosecution of a man under the article on the display of Nazi symbols is permissible, among other things, because the image of the swastika "can cause suffering to people whose relatives died during the Great Patriotic War."
