PACE recognized the genocide illegal handling with Ukrainian children

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Thursday adopted a resolution entitled "Deportation and violent movements of Ukrainian children and other civilians to the Russian Federation or to the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine: the creation of conditions for their safe return, the cessation of these crimes and the punishment of the perpetrators." The movement of Ukrainian children "was clearly planned and organized as state policy." As noted in the resolution, the purpose of this policy was "to destroy all the connections and features of their Ukrainian identity."

The PACE PACE statement emphasizes that documentary certificates of the movement of Ukrainian children correspond to the international definition of genocide.

The PACE document is based on the evidence collected in the report of the delegate PACE from Portugal Paulo Pisco. Deported children encountered the process of "Russification" through re -education in Russian, the report says.

Examples are given when children were forbidden to speak Ukrainian, they were propaganda processing, forced to go to military training.

In mid -April 2023, the Ukrainian government reported that more than 19,384 Ukrainian children were deported to Russia, and the fate of many more thousand still remains unclear.

The Assembly PACE welcomed the decision of the International Criminal Court to issue orders for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Commissioner for the Rights of the Child Maria Lvova-Belova on charges of committing war crimes and called for their implementation.
