Levada Center: almost two-thirds of Russians are worried about the possible counterattack of the Armed Forces

Almost two -thirds of Russians (62%) are concerned about the possible counterattack of the Ukrainian army. This is evidenced by the new data of the Levada Center survey.

“The elderly surveyed (67%), those who approve of the president’s activities, and respondents trusting TV and Internet publications as the main sources of news (about 65%) are concerned most of all,” the study of sociologists said. The Levada Center also notes that respondents aged 18–24 years and 25–39 years (about 55%), as well as those who do not approve of Vladimir Putin’s work as president (56%), and surveyed who do not trust any sources of information (57%) are the least concerned.

Sociologists also found that in April this year, a little more than half of Russians (52%) believe that the main difficulties because of the war are still ahead. According to 27% of respondents, citizens are experiencing the main problems now, and for 10% they are already behind. “The share of those who believe that the main difficulties are expected in the future, prevails among the most age-related respondents (58%),” writes Levada Center.

Despite this, in April 2023, support for the war with Ukraine among Russians grew by 3 percentage points. Compared to March - up to 75%. They do not support the war - 16% of respondents (20% in March).
