Former adviser to the Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu Maria Kitaeva received the position of adviser to the new head of the Tretyakov Gallery. The appointment of Kitaeva was reported by the TV presenter and film critic of “Channel One” Ekaterina Mcturidze in her telegram channel. This information was confirmed by the niece of Kitaeva, Ksenia Kitaeva, in her telegram channel.

In 2014, at the age of 27, Kitaeva, by decree of President Vladimir Putin, was assigned a cool rank - a real state adviser to the Russian Federation of the 3rd grade.

In February of this year, the Ministry of Culture of Russia fired Zelfir Tregulov from the post of director of the Tretyakov Gallery "In connection with the completion of the term of the labor contract." Tregulova graduated from the art history department of the Moscow State University, worked as deputy general director for exhibition work and international relations of the Moscow Kremlin museums and the general director of the Rosiso Museum and Exhibition Center and led the Tretyakov Gallery since 2015.

The Ministry of Culture demanded that until February 6, Tregulova reported “on the issue of bringing the constant expositions and exhibitions of the State Tretyakov Gallery in accordance with spiritual and moral values”, set forth in Putin’s decree of November 9, 2022 “On approval of the foundations of state policy to preserve and strengthen traditional Russian spiritual and moral values”. The reason was the alleged complaint from a certain visitor to the museum Sergei Shadrin. Its text was given by The Moscow Times. Elena Pronicheva, the daughter of the FSB General Vladimir Pronichev, became the new director.
