On the night of May 1 - at 00:01 - on the territory of the Susaninsky settlement in the Gatchinsky district of the Leningrad region, unknown people undermined the support of the power line. This was announced by the Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko.
According to Drozdenko, on another support they found an object - presumably an explosive device. Explosion equipment was removed and cleared, the governor writes.
The substation switched the network in automatic mode, so that the undermining did not lead to a power outage, reports Drozdenko. He added that experts examine other supports of the damaged line.
Explosion equipment, employees of the FSB, prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee work on the spot. The UK confirmed the undermining of the power transmission lines, but the news did not bring other details at the time of writing.
As “78” and “Fontanka” write, the residents of the nearby village of Kovshovo were reported the day before about “a strange sound and a bright flash”. 47news notes that the nearest houses are 300-400 meters from the place of undermining.
Drozdenko asked the inhabitants of the Leningrad region "to be vigilant" and "to inform law enforcement agencies about suspicious persons and subjects."
