The main version of the murder immediately became the official activities of Manevich as chairman of the Kugi. One of the main suspects in the murder order was called Yuri Shutov, since 1996, the head of the Commission of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on the analysis of privatization results.

There was no direct evidence of Shutov’s involvement in the murder of Manevich, but the FSB management for Peter and the Leningrad region established tight observation for comic. This did not lead to the disclosure of the murder, but the FSB officers managed to establish the facts of another criminal activity of the Shutov gang. In 1999, Shutov, then the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, was arrested. Most likely, it was this sentence that Chubais had in mind when in November 2006 he said that the murderers of Manevich were merit.

However, three years later it suddenly turned out that not all participants in the attempt on the vice-governor received their own in 2006.

In 2007, the leader of an organized criminal group (organized crime group) Sergey Zaripov was detained in St. Petersburg. The investigation established that in the 90s the gang of the Zaripov brothers (the older brother, Andrei, was blown up in 1999 in the manufacture of an explosive device) was part of the Schutov organized crime group and specialized in the murders and abductions of people. During the year, nine more gang members were arrested, including the former senior lieutenant of the RF Armed Forces, Alexei Gardotsky, who in 2009 stated that it was he who shot Mikhail Menich.

According to Gardotsky, the order to eliminate Mainer was given to Andrei Zaripov, who headed the organized crime group at that time. And he, in turn, received an order to kill from Yuri Shutov. The former military claimed that preparation for the murder was carried out for several months. Four gang members took part in the murder itself. The direct management of the radio was carried out by Andrei Zaripov. Two members of the gang tracked the trips from the apartment of Manevich. Another killer at the entrance of house No. 76 on Nevsky Prospekt covered Gardotsky, who shot at the vice-governor.

Despite the fact that, according to the Code of Criminal Procedure, the employees of the Investigative Committee under the prosecutor's office of St. Petersburg did not have the right to conduct investigative measures in this case (the terms of the preliminary investigation had long ended), the investigator who dusted the “case of Manevich” instantly appointed “Street” (checking the testimony directly at the crime scene). And the victorious relations of the disclosure of the murder of Mlyansich flew to Moscow.

But it quickly became clear that the statements of Gardotsky were too vague. On the “street” ( the investigative action is the so -called testing on the spot. - Ed. ) He frankly confused, claimed that he shot from one window, although they shot from another, could not say how many people were in the car, and even called the murder time incorrectly. So after the first sensational statements of law enforcement agencies, they decided to simply forget about the recognition of Gardotsky.

Another 14 years passed, and the other day the FSB suddenly stated that she had finally revealed the murder of Manevich.

“During the investigative actions, the involvement of the crime of the two members of the organized crime group of St. Petersburg was processed, one of whom monitored the place of residence of the official and transferred information about the movement of M. Mansevich to his accomplice. The second shot the car in which the vice-governor was located. The confessions of both defendants on the preparation and committing of the murder of M. As can be seen from the message, the central apparatus of the FSB does not reveal the identity of the suspects. However, the Fontanka.ru online publication called one of them-Arkady Nusimovich. His name just four years ago thundered throughout Russia. It was Nusimovich who was suspected of attacking riot police in December 2015 in the Krasnogvardeisky district of St. Petersburg. Then the bandits attacked the police transported “black nal” (unaccounted money hidden from the tax authorities) for builders. All the country's television channels showed a video with two burning cars (the Gazelle, which the bandits used as a ram, and the police officer). Money (the exact amount was never named) was stolen.

In April 2016, Nusimovich and two more alleged participants in the attack were arrested. In January 2019, the jury justified them. But Nusimovich was nevertheless sentenced to 22 years in prison in September 2020 for other crimes.
