The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case of negligence (Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code) against the director of the Yekaterinburg special school No. 124 of a closed type, Natalia Poddubnaya. This was reported by E1.ru , Vecherniye Vedomosti and Kommersant, citing sources.
The regional department of the department declined to comment to journalists.
In April, a 13-year-old teenager who escaped from the special school spoke about cases of sexualized violence in the institution. According to the family’s lawyer, Georgy Krasnov, two students, 15 and 16 years old, were doing this at the direction of an elderly teacher, who held “comradely trials” among the children for bad behavior.
The two students about whom the runaway teenager spoke were arrested in the case of sexual violence (clause “b” of part 4 of article 132 of the Criminal Code).
Director Poddubnaya was suspended from work. According to the escaped teenager, the woman knew about cases of violence, and once at a general school meeting she raised the injured boy and asked: “Why couldn’t you bite him?” The other children then stopped communicating with him.
Yesterday, E1.ru published material on the progress of the investigation, in which it cited the words of its “source in the security forces.” It was stated there that, according to the investigation, “the students carried out the hazing themselves,” and “the role of the elderly teacher in organizing the bullying <…> has not yet been confirmed” and he only “received complaints that he hit one of the students with a belt "
