
On May 10, the Angarsk City Court granted the petition for the parole Andrei Levchenko, the son of the ex-governor of the Irkutsk region Sergey Levchenko, the press service of the court reports.
Levchenko will be released with a conditional period of 2 years and 2 months. During this period, he is obliged to be celebrated in the police department, and is also deprived of the right to change their place of residence and visit the entertainment institutions from 22 hours to 7 hours. Levchenko appealed to a similar petition in April, but the court rejected it.
Andrei Levchenko is serving a sentence in IK-14 in the Irkutsk region. The former deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Khabarovsk Territory was sentenced to 9 years in a maximum regime in July 2022. The court later reduced the punishment to 6 years.
Levchenko was found guilty of embezzlement of the money of the regional capital repairs fund of apartment buildings in the implementation of contracts for the repair and replacement of elevator equipment and elevator mines. The investigation estimated the damage to the budget at 185 million rubles. Levchenko was in custody since the fall of 2020.
