The director of a school in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug complained about the mother of a girl with blue and yellow pigtails, but the police found no violations

The director of school No. 1 in the city of Pyt-Yakh of Yugra, Irina Kotova, complained about the mother of a student who, on the eve of Victory Day, came to school with yellow-blue braids and a yin and yang symbol shaved on her temple; The police found no violations in the actions of the schoolgirl's mother. This was reported by Vestnik with reference to the local Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Kotova decided that the image on the girl’s hair is one of the symbols of the Ukrainian Azov regiment, and the colors of the threads woven into the braids are similar to the colors of the Ukrainian flag. At the same time, the schoolgirl’s mother noted that the braids had light green and blue threads. She said : “I let my daughter choose the colors. She chose bright ones - it’s a child!”

“Yes, such a statement was indeed written, but the director did her job during this difficult time. The team and children are behind her. She, as a former police officer, knows better how to act,” said one of the employees of the school run by Kotova.

As a result, the police began an investigation against the schoolgirl’s mother under the article on failure to fulfill or improper performance of duties for the maintenance, upbringing, training, protection of the rights and interests of minors (Article 5.35 of the Administrative Code). The craftswoman who braided the hair told Podem that an investigator came to her and took “a sample of the material that she used to braid the child . ”

The region's children's ombudsman, Lyudmila Nizamova, suggested holding a conversation with the school director to understand Kotova's motivation. In her opinion, the situation “needed to be resolved by pedagogical methods, but for some reason they tried to resolve it administratively and legally, by submitting an application to the internal affairs bodies.”
