A protocol was drawn up against Boris Grebenshchikov for “discrediting” the Russian army

The leader of the "Aquarium" group, Boris Grebenshchikov, was charged with "discrediting" the army (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This was reported on the website of the courts of Moscow, drew the attention of Mediazona. The case will be considered in the Tverskoy District Court of the capital. What is the reason for the persecution of Grebenshchikov is not reported.

In early 2022, United Russia State Duma deputy Sultan Khamzaev turned to the Investigative Committee with a request to check Grebenshchinov under articles on “discrediting” the army and promoting terrorism. The reason for the complaint was an interview with Grebenshchikov, in which he criticized the war in Ukraine.

After the outbreak of the war, Boris Grebenshchikov left Russia for the UK. In an interview with the Israeli channel Channel 9 in the summer of 2022, he said that he collected 12 million euros at one of the concerts and sent them to Ukraine. The musician also condemned the war and called Russia's position fascist. He later clarified that 12 million euros were raised as part of the Sound of Peace charity festival in Berlin, where other musicians also performed.
