The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation brought charges in absentia against the prosecutor and the judge of the International Criminal Court. They issued an arrest warrant for Putin

The Russian Investigative Committee has filed charges in absentia against prosecutor and International Criminal Court (ICC) judge Karim Ahmad Khan and Rosario Salvatore Aitala, who issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The actions of the representatives of the ICC were qualified by the Russian investigation, among other things, under the articles on “bringing a knowingly innocent person to criminal responsibility” and “preparing to attack a representative of a foreign state,” the Russian department said in a statement.

Based on the decision of the investigator, the prosecutor and the judge of the ICC were put on the wanted list. Earlier that Karim Ahmad Khan was put on the wanted list, it became known from the base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

• On March 17, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin. He is suspected of illegal deportation of children from the occupied territories of Ukraine to Russia. A similar warrant was issued against Russian children's ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova.
• On March 20, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case against the prosecutor and judges of the ICC.
