The Russian Investigative Committee has filed charges in absentia against prosecutor and International Criminal Court (ICC) judge Karim Ahmad Khan and Rosario Salvatore Aitala, who issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The actions of the representatives of the ICC were qualified by the Russian investigation, among other things, under the articles on “bringing a knowingly innocent person to criminal responsibility” and “preparing to attack a representative of a foreign state,” the Russian department said in a statement.
Based on the decision of the investigator, the prosecutor and the judge of the ICC were put on the wanted list. Earlier that Karim Ahmad Khan was put on the wanted list, it became known from the base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
