Roman Protasevich was pardoned not for cooperation with the investigation, but for becoming one of the "them"

The Belarusian regime paused, like Moemovsky Julia Lambert. First, on April 21, the prosecutor demanded ten years of imprisonment for Roman Protasevich, despite the active repentance and numerous state television broadcasters with the stories of the novel about what vile substance it is - the Belarusian opposition. Two weeks later, on May 3, the verdict was announced - eight years in prison. But Protasevich left the courtroom on his own, and not at all under escort. After 10 days, the verdict entered into force - the convicted person did not appeal him. But even then Protasevich was not taken into custody. The court said that this was in order to execute. After another ten days, May 22, Lukashenko pardoned Protasevich. A meaningful pause - from the demand of ten years to pardon - lasted a month.

During this month, many spears were broken in discussions on the topic "will be imprisoned or not imprisoned." Outside Belarus, they often claimed that, most likely, they would put it, and inside - the devil would be planted two, once after the sentence with his feet went home. And they were right. From the inside, from hell, in which Belarus is already a thousand days, it is better. They could not put him, this is obvious.

After the pardon and sincere public gratitude of the novel by Protasevich to the “country and the president”, many thought that it was a signal for those sitting in a pre -trial detention center, potential political prisoners (arrests in Belarus continue) and those who managed to leave, but want to return: here is a guiding star, here is the direction of movement, here is a model of behavior. Active cooperation with the investigation, pre -trial agreement, repentance and admission of guilt - all this was already and is. And it has not helped anyone yet. As for cooperation, it is enough to recall the story of a conspiracy against Lukashenko, when a literary critic Alexander Feduta, a lawyer with American citizenship Yuri Zenkovich and the leader of the BRF party Grigory Kostusev in Zum planned a coup with the help of the military. After several meetings, everyone was detained, at the same time grabbing a trucker who once brought Zenkovich, and his Belarusian assistant was accused of conspiracy to seize power. So, Yuri Zenkovich immediately pleaded guilty and made a deal with the investigation. At the trial, the prosecutor confirmed that all the terms of the deal Zenkovich were fulfilled.

I myself spent almost four months under house arrest and I know well what it is. These are two officers in the apartment around the clock, this is the ban on any contacts, including correspondence (letters and walks are allowed in the pre -trial detention center, but under house arrest - no), and even the ban on approaching the windows - suddenly you will throw a “little one” out the window. This is the isolation worse than the prison, only at home. And Protasevich, allegedly under house arrest, calmly got a job in the pro-government organization System Human Rights, started his own telegram channel and got married, which he reported three days after he was taken into custody of the sentence of his girlfriend Sofia Sapuga, with whom they flew together on the unfortunate flight of Ryanair Athens-Vilnius.
