The court fined an imam from Krasnoufimsk because of a religious brochure found in a mosque
On March 6, the Krasnoufimsky District Court of the Sverdlovsk Region fined local imam Vasilyan Magamurov over a religious pamphlet. This was reported by the Information and Analytical Center "Owl".
Magamurov was fined 1,000 rubles under the article on the mass distribution of extremist materials (Article 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The reason for the administrative case was the pamphlet of Abdurrahman bin Abdulkarim Ash-Shih “Muhammad the Greatest of All. Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah”, found by the police as a result of an inspection of a mosque in the village of Sredniy Bryak on February 6, 2023.
The brochure "Muhammad the Greatest of All" was added to the Federal List of Extremist Materials in July 2017. According to the court, the document promotes the superiority and exclusivity of Islam over other religions, and also incites hatred towards persons who do not profess Islam and Muslims who have deviated from the principles of strict monotheism.
