“We express a categorical disagreement with the decision of the Prosecutor General. This decision makes illegal continuation of any Greenpeace activity in Russia. Therefore, the Russian branch of Greenpeace is forced to close ” - this is how the Russian branch of Greenpeace commented on the decision of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation on the recognition of an undesirable in the Russian Federation of the international non -governmental organization Greenpeace International.
Read the full text of the application on the site and in social networks of the organization. I will not give a link so as not to delete it after the Ministry of Justice agrees with the decision of the Prosecutor General and includes Greenpeace in the register.
I’ll say from myself: I have worked in the Russian branch of Greenpeace for more than 10 years and I can say with confidence - this was a great time. All these years we have been doing what I would continue to do, in spite of any registers - we saved nature.
My first project was a project for energy saving. Then he seemed ridiculous to many. Like, saving on bulbs will not give anything. Now it is state policy
For more than 10 years I worked side by side with voluntary firefighters. Which not only extinguished forests, fields and peat, but also sought the recently accepted legislative ban on burning dry vegetation.
The Russian Greenpeace was the first to raise the question in our country about the separate collection of waste and their processing.
We raised the problem of oil spills, air pollution in cities, barbaric logging and capturing protected areas.
Greenpeace has been working in Russia for 30 years. And to say that he harmed the country all these years and his work suddenly became undesirable, at least stupid.
Separately, as a photographer and video operator, I want to turn to those officials and authorities who wrote all these years and called with a request to provide photos and videos for exhibitions, albums, advertising booklets about Karelia. Very often you asked to do this "yesterday" and for free. As a rule, I never refused. And my works represented Karelia both at the republican and federal level.
I am writing this not for boasting. And in order to try to answer the question: all these years have you cooperated with whom? With those who love their homeland and talks about its nature in their photographs and videos or with an “undesirable element”, which, according to the Ministry of Justice, intervened in the internal affairs of the state and undermined its economic foundations.
The question is rhetorical and you, of course, have nothing to worry about. This is different, as they say now.
The state declared Greenpeace an unwanted organization against the backdrop of blazing forest fires. Against the background of the fact that around Baikal they are going to cut down the forests, against the background of the garbage and climatic crisis. Well, this is very symbolic. The barn, Gori and hut are burning!
But I can say with confidence: everything that happened will not force the hands of those who really care for nature, and not for their own pockets; Those who choose life, not death.
As John Lennon said, in the end everything will be fine. If everything is bad, this is not the end!
I wish everyone the Green World!
