"Dinosaurian egg" for the Vyatka Paleontological Museum
In the middle of one of the central streets of the city of Kirov (aka Vyatka), a watch has been installed, which have been a lady with a gentleman for many years now, everyone looks at each other, but they will not take hands and will not hug. If you turn your back to them and go a couple of quarters to where the sun is destined to fall asleep, then in one of the houses that looks like a huge clock of sand, you can find an inconspicuous door leading to the distant past of the planet - the world of dinosaurs ...
But seriously (or not), then, having visited the Vyatka Paleontological Museum and Yurkin Park with children last summer, I thought why such a unique and interesting part of the history of the Vyatka land, which would be interesting for children, could be one of the factors in the development of tourism and bring an additional income to the region, and only brought to a small museum with the entrance “ Courtyard ”, to what kind of park outside the city and their“ blurry reflections ”in Kotelnich.
I decided to set myself the task: to try to increase interest in paleontology among citizens and guests of the city and “sew up” the topic of dinosaurs in the urban environment, without turning the city of Kirov into a cheap park of attractions.
I made a couple of sketches: benches with prints of fossil plants and mollusks, copper inserts in the form of traces of dinosaurs in paving slabs (which would show a direction to the museum) and a two -meter “Easter egg” (as an element that attracts attention, which would be the completion of the entire composition). He put it on the table and forgot.
But the news from Kirov on the extension of the pedestrian part of Spasskaya Street and the provision of the new building to the Paleontological Museum, aside the main tourist routes, prompted me to return to this topic and draw elements in more detail. After all, how successful the pedestrian street will depend not only on its functional, but also on aesthetic filling, reflecting both cultural and historical features of the area.
So far, I made one element - a two -meter egg of a dinosaur with the image of Skutozaurs of Karpinsky*, in which he tried to lay two ideas: Easter traditions in Russia and the idea of children about huge lizards (children, as you know, often seem more than they are) ...
It turned out or not - you decide. In any case, this is just a fantasy on the topic ...
*Skutozaurs of Karpinsky - were discovered in the Kotelnich area (Kirov region) and are the closest relatives of Pariazaur.
