Zorkin and Putin discussed the map of the XVII century and it seems like they did not find Ukraine there. They looked badly, such a territory is present on the map. It is designated as Ukraine Pays des cosaques (“Ukraine, the land of the Cossacks). At that time, it is part of the Commonwealth.
