The Crimean telecom operator and Internet provider Miranda-Media explained the disconnection of subscribers from the Internet on May 26 as “one of the largest hacker attacks in the company’s history.” This was reported in the company’s official telegram channel.

As noted in Miranda Media, the hacker attack led to a breakdown in the networks of the main telecom operator, as a result, subscribers throughout the peninsula were left without Internet access on Friday. It took 16 hours to fix the problem, the company added. The Internet provider promised compensation to customers in connection with the incident.

“Today, some services may not be available to clients, including payment for services. Understanding this, we will not stop providing communication services. Moreover, we will provide compensation to clients, the details of which will be announced a little later, additionally,” said Ivan Zima, CEO of Miranda-Media.
