A court in the city of Belovo in the Kemerovo region sentenced a 57-year-old local resident, whose name was not released, to six months of restricted freedom. He was found guilty of vandalism motivated by political hatred. This was reported by Kuzbass Online with reference to the press service of the regional department of the FSB.

According to the investigation, the defendant did not agree with the decision to start a war in Ukraine, in connection with which he poured red paint over a banner with the image of the president, which hung on one of the streets of the city.

“The man, <...> being a supporter of the ideology of resistance to violence - pacifism, did not agree with its implementation, opposing the ideology to the duty and obligation of a citizen of the Russian Federation to protect the Fatherland,” the regional FSB press release says.

It clarifies that the defendant did not deny his guilt and confessed to his deed.
