I am writing this text, sitting on the floor in the bathroom, which in almost a year and a half of the war combined the features of the bedroom and the office. A girlfriend from Israel recently spoke about “Mamad” - specially fortified rooms in residential buildings, which are effective at a shock wave and protect against missile debris. My faith and hope are mainly connected with the capital's air defense. These are real heroes and professionals. A rare May night does without air attacks: missile, “mined” or integrated ones, once and another flies together.

Today, on the night of Monday, May 29, the account of attacks grew to fifteen. But Russia decided to “pamper” in the morning - “Iskander”, which was launched along the ballistic trajectory. When such rubbish is knocked down, a white ball forms in the sky, and the house shudders. Sometimes explosions sound a series of canon. The moment when I wanted to fix my own sensations in such moments and insert them into notes, for a long time in the past. The condition cannot be considered an addiction to mortal danger, of course. But fear is not constructive. And everyone chooses a precaution, which is closer to its nervous system.

Many people go down again at the metro station-with children, including breast ones, with cats in carrying and leashes, with rugs-caviacs and water bottles. Others who have a nearby shelter occupy the “raised” places there.

And some just choose an underpass closest to the house. I am aware that the majority still remains in high -rise buildings.

On average, night anxiety lasts four to five hours. The last explosions are already sounding against the backdrop of dawn haze when birds begin to sing. This is what: the city does not fall into a somnambulic state from chronic lack of sleep.

Doctors do not cancel the operations, public transport drivers go on time on time, utilities manage, as it should, empty garbage tanks, shops open on schedule.

And the day of Kyiv, one of the favorite holidays, which traditionally falls on the last Sunday of spring, was also not canceled. The exact date of the founding of Kyiv is still the subject of discussions among historians. The conditional year of the foundation, according to legend, is believed by the 482nd. This means that in 2023 they celebrated the 1541st birthday.

In my family, the holiday was generally huge: a son arrived on a short vacation from the front. And we went to admire the capital. This must be seen: how many sun, greenery, flowering parks and a brightly dressed people around! But the night before was also a “fire”.

For a clear reason, some special mass festivities were not satisfied. Yes, and to the salute over the Dnieper, of course, did not reach either. I think the salutes and after the victory will remain in question for a long time. The Museum of the History of Kyiv prepared his entertainment and cognitive program: Nespucki lectures, master classes for children. In the cinema "Zhovten" - photo exhibitions and fairs. In the Museum of Ivan Gonchar - a fair of folk art. The Kiev city administration announced the conduct of free pedestrian excursions in historical areas: Lukyanovka, Contracts Square, Podol. The National Museum of the History of Ukraine opened an exhibition of ancient musical instruments, clothes and household items, a concert of bandurists took place there. And the concert of Alexander Pustinsky, the leader of the Tartak group and a soldier of the 47th Brigade of the Armed Forces, were arranged in Docker Pub.

The commandant’s hour struck, as usual, at midnight. But the streets were empty earlier: public transport now has its own deadline.

And forty minutes after midnight, Siren roared. Well, Russia could not calmly react to the holiday!

The results of last night: almost 40 missiles and drones-Kamikaze flew to Kyiv-almost all goals were knocked down. In the Podolsky district of the city, wreckers fell on a private house, firefighters and doctors immediately left for the place. The wounded person was hospitalized. In my Svyatoshinsky district, a fire on the same occasion: it hit the resettled house, extinguished. Parts of the rocket fell in the Goloseevsky district.

The results of the morning shelling by the Iskanders. It began at 11:09, when the streets are already full of people. The Russian military devoted “special attention” to the city center: 5-6 missiles were sent there. A great thing is the Patriot air defense system! I don’t even want to think how it would do without them. Eleven of the eleven potential killer missiles turned into pieces of metal.

In the Obolonsky district, not far from the Pochayn metro station, the wreckage fell and lit up right on the roadway of the street, miraculously not hitting the minibus.

Iron from the sky fell in the Dnieper and Desnyansky districts, on the left bank of the capital. According to the Kyiv city military administration, which are still being specified, there were no critical destruction. Information about the victims is specified.

City Internet resources publish videos: schoolchildren run along the sidewalk in the shelter, Kievka is standing next to her own car, which a fragment of a rocket hit right on the move.

But another plot beats the records of views: in one of the parking, the groom and the bride are kissed, and the guests applaud them. The alarm caught the newlyweds near the registry office. As you know, at such moments, all institutions stop working, but the wedding is not the case that is able to cancel some filthy Iskander.

“I can’t imagine how it can be withstanded. People are not iron, ”wrote an emigrant friend. I wanted to answer, but did not. He will not understand.
