The Riga Agency of the Monuments was transferred by a monument to the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin from the capital's park Kronvald to the warehouse, according to the portal LSM.lv. The sculpture is later planned to be transferred to the Museum of the Union of Artists.
The decision to move the monument was made due to the fact that in 2009 the Council for the preservation and development of the historical center of Riga and the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Culture Monuments did not approve its placement in the park, recommending to choose another place.
In March 2023, the Council for Monuments of the Riga Duma decided to transfer the monument to the poet. This decision was also supported in the coalition of the Riga Duma.
