The court appointed monetary compensation to the accused who, due to erroneous arrest, lost his love

The judicial practice is such that the moral damage appointed in Russia by the courts is almost always insignificant. For the arrest in the criminal case in which the person was acquitted, compensation may amount to 10 to 500 thousand rubles, depending on the deadline for the bars. But in this case, the court was imbued with compassion for the innocently arrested.

At the end of February 2020, law enforcement officers discovered and liquidated a drug laboratory for the production of drugs of the amphetamine group in the Tosnensky district of the Leningrad Region. During the search of the laboratory, about 300 grams of methamphetamine, 200 grams of amphetamine and several liters of ephedrine extract were seized.

The “cover” of the laboratory was a stage of a rather complicated and serious operation, during which almost all chains of the drug dealer were identified: from suppliers of raw materials to merchants a ready -made drug.

It was a great success of the drug dealerships, and he quite deserved to tell all the federal media about this victory. But it was at that time that the pandemic of Covid began, and the attention of the Russians was riveted to it.

Despite the coronavirus, the police continued work. In particular, they established persons involved in the activities of the People's Commissariat and the Tosnenskaya Laboratory. One of those who came under suspicion was the Petersburger Mikhail Kotlyarov. On February 26, 2020 he was detained. The next day, they were charged with attempting to the production and sale of drugs on a large scale (Articles 30 and 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, up to 20 years in prison). On February 28, 2020, the Tosnensky city court of the Leningrad region decided to arrest Kotlyarov.

“For more than two years, I was in places of imprisonment, realizing that I am innocent of what they accused me of, and this fact caused me incredible suffering,” Kotlyarov said later in court. - I fell into a depressive state, I was scared for my life. Moreover, it was at that time that the peak of mortality came from coronavirus infection, and in the pre -trial detention center, infection with Covid was much easier than at large.

My beloved girl, with whom I planned to create a family and knit my life, believed in my guilt and tore my relationship with me. What even more exacerbated my mental state.

On May 30, 2022, the Leningrad Regional Court fully acquitted Kotlyarov in crimes incriminated to him with the wording “for non -involvement”. Having recovered a little from the two -year arrest, Kotlyarov again went to law enforcement agencies - this time to the Nevsky District Court of St. Petersburg with a lawsuit against the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. He demanded to compensate for his suffering. According to the United press service of the courts of St. Petersburg, the plaintiff demanded to pay him 10 million rubles. The court sympathized to the young man, but he nevertheless reduced the amount of compensation by five times.
