In recent days, almost autumn weather has been established in St. Petersburg: strong wind, rains and low temperature. The reason for this weather is the influence of a cyclone, the center of which is now in the north of Scandinavia.
Paper spoke with a meteorologist Yuri Kutkevich - how long such weather will last in St. Petersburg and when the townspeople can swim.
- Petersburg is influenced by the southern parts of the cyclone, which are shifted far from the city - in the north of Scandinavia, through the Barents Sea - but by their southern units and, most importantly, Petersburg cling to atmospheric fronts.
Because of this, the region has regular short-term precipitation, the western and north-west wind, and the hitch of cold air occurs behind these fronts. In the coming days - until the end of the week - such a weather forecast will remain: rains, cool temperature from +13 to +15 degrees. At night, frosts are likely in the southern regions of the Leningrad region: the temperature can drop to zero degrees and even lower.
Such weather will last until the next working week. Previously, we can say that from Monday and over the next days the weather will begin to improve. There will be no protracted precipitation, but short -term and not very strong are possible, and most importantly, the temperature will begin to increase to +20, and on some days - to +22–23 degrees.
The Finnish bay will begin to warm up the fastest in shallow water, now the temperature there is no higher than +15 degrees. When it warms up to at least comfortable +18 degrees, I find it difficult to say. The weather should be comfortable for a long time. I suppose that if the next week is really warmer, then in a week, again with the condition of warm weather, it will be possible to swim.
