Viktor Shenderovich was not allowed into Georgia

The writer and publicist Viktor Shenderovich was not allowed into Georgia. This was announced by blogger Nikolai Levshits with reference to the organizers of the writer's speech.

On June 2, Shenderovich was supposed to perform in Tbilisi, and on June 4 - in Batumi.

According to Levshits, Shenderovich "was turned around at the border control and put on a flight to Israel, from where he flew." He noted that the last time the writer was in Georgia was several months ago.

Shenderovich himself has not yet commented on what happened.

• In May, Shenderovich was criticized on social media by pro-Ukrainian activists for his statements, in which they believed he spoke positively about the Russian military. The writer himself said that his words were taken out of context.
• On May 11, activists came to the building in Vilnius, where the writer had a speech. When he went out to talk to them, he was doused with ketchup.
• A few days later, University College London canceled Shenderovich's speech without warning. After that, the writer held a speech in nearby Regent's Park.
