An activist from Yelabuga was subject to a report on “discrediting” the army because of his status on WhatsApp; yesterday he was detained under the pretext of stealing a bicycle

Police drew up a report against a resident of Elabuga in Tatarstan, Dmitry Teterin, under the article on “discrediting” the army (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code) because of his status in the WhatsApp messenger . A civil activist told Mediazona about this.

According to the protocol, pictures of which were provided to the publication by Teterin, his status read: “Russia will be free! Glory to Ukraine! Long live Belarus!” In the explanation box, the activist wrote: “I do not agree with the article imputed to me. I don’t consider the recording to be discreditable; I copied it from someone after seeing it on the Internet.”

Yesterday Teterin said that on the eve of the rally in support of Navalny, police detained him for five hours under the pretext of stealing a bicycle. In a conversation with the activist, the security officer who detained him admitted that he had invented a reason to take the man to the department.
