At the end of May, the city with a population of 40 thousand people is under shelling, fighting on a nearby border with Ukraine.

Many residents have already left Shebekino: at first, the authorities announced the evacuation of children, then adults began to leave the city - people left on their own or with the help of the local administration and the military. Meanwhile, the shelling only intensified: according to the authorities, over the past week, 1150 apartments and 370 private residential buildings were damaged and destroyed in the Shebekinsky city district.

“Given the previously damaged households, we have the following amount: 2464 residential premises in total, of which 1521 apartments and 943 private houses,” said Vladimir Zhdanov, head of the Shebekinsky District on June 5.

The Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov daily reports the wounded local residents, there are also the dead: on June 2, three people died in the village of Sobolevka of the Valuysky district, two residents of two villages in the Shebekinsky city district died a day after the shelling.

At about ten in the morning on June 4, the Liberty of Russia Legion said that in the village of New Tavolzhanka, fights were going on 10 kilometers from Shebekino. About noon on the same day, another message appeared in the Legion Telegram channel: "The advanced assault group of the Legion and RDK enters the suburbs of Shebekino." Later on the same day, the Russian Volunteer Corps and Legion “Freedom of Russia” - the Russians who are fighting on the side of Ukraine serve in these units - published an appeal to the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov, appointing him a meeting in the church “without weapons” and promising to return two prisoners. The governor responded to the appeal a few hours later, refusing to come and calling the opponents "scoundrels, villains, killers and fascists." He added that in the new Tavolzhanka there is a battle with a sabotage and reconnaissance group.

“I hope all of them will be destroyed, in another way it cannot be by definition,” he emphasized. The governor accused the RDK of the deaths of local residents. Later, the Ministry of Defense reported that the attack of saboteurs was reflected. “The enemy is scattered and moved away,” the department said.

A resident of the new Tollzhanka, who, after the start of massive shelling, was talking to the Mediazona, on June 4 said that "there are no fights on the streets, but they would bomb strongly." Since then, she did not get in touch.

From the new Tavolzhanka, as well as from Shebekino and other surrounding settlements, local residents were evacuated deep into the region.

Refugees are placed at the stadium and in dormitories (evicting students from the rooms)

In the Belgorod region, several points of temporary accommodation (PVR) were organized for refugees. On June 4, the head of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov reported that now more than four thousand residents of the border areas are placed in them. Six PVR work in Belgorod, the largest-inside the indoor stadium Belgorod Arena, it accommodates a thousand people. Parents had to pay for the export of children, some got into a boarding school with collapsing plaster

On May 31, about 300 teenagers from the Shebekinsky district were sent to the Voronezh region. On June 3, Vyacheslav Gladkov also reported on the sending of 600 children to Yaroslavl and Kaluga. After the evacuation of children declared by the authorities of the Belgorod region, their parents complained in local publics that they had to pay three thousand rubles per child for export from the city. As the head of the Shebekinsky city district, Vladimir Zhdanov, later commented on this situation, the evacuated children were sent to a “planned health rest”, and parents had to pay almost two thousand rubles for a trip to “comfortable buses”.

About 90 evacuated children were settled in the boarding school of the "Regional Rehabilitation Center" in Kaluga. As the parents of Astra and Belgorod No. 1 told the parents of the children, the authorities initially promised that they would be sent to the camp. According to parents, in the boarding school, children did not even have the opportunity to wash.

Some residents remain under fire
