A convicted resident of Chuvashia was recruited by Wagner PMC, returned to his native village and beat a man to death

A native of the village of Murzakovo in Chuvashia, 23-year-old Nikita Lyubimov left the colony last year, joining the ranks of the Wagner PMC mercenaries. Due to injuries received during the war, the young man returned home in November 2022; in May he beat an acquaintance to death. The story of the ex-prisoner was told by Idel.Realii.

On May 31, the Investigative Committee announced the arrest of a 23-year-old resident of Murzakovo in the case of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm, resulting in the death of a person through negligence (Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, on May 27, a young man, being drunk, beat a fellow villager “on the basis of personal hostility,” and the man died on the spot.

As Idel.Realii write, the deceased Igor Vitalievich Pushkin was 56 years old. A resident of Murzakovo confirmed that it was Nikita Lyubimov who was detained in connection with his death. The fact that Lyubimov fought in Ukraine is known, including thanks to a publication on the website of a local school. In it, the name of Lyubimov is listed among those who “worthily fulfill their sacred duty.”

According to village residents, the young man, returning from the war, kept everyone in fear. “There were constant drunken fights and showdowns, he threatened everyone - including women, they stopped letting children go outside without adults. At the same time, everyone just shrugged at this disgrace - they say, he came as a hero, and even an invalid,” said a resident of Murzakovo.

Idel.Realii found out that Lyubimov had already been convicted several times. As a minor, he was sentenced to three years in prison for rape, then he was given a year of probation for intentionally causing harm to the health of another person and beatings. His last sentence was handed down in 2020, when the court sent him to prison for four and a half years. The young man was found guilty on five counts, including robbery and battery.

Last December, Daily Karelia reported that a man who returned from the war in Ukraine killed his wife. In March, returned a Wagner PMC mercenary who had previously been convicted of murder to his native village in the Kirov region and killed an 85-year-old woman. It is also known that a resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region, in front of his two young children, stabbed his wife to death after participating in the war.
