The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that representatives of the regional authorities “cannot enter” the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka. He spoke about this during a live broadcast on VK, answering questions from local residents.
“Today we still cannot enter there, knowing that about 100 people [there] were, according to the report of the head of the district, but the shelling of the last two days does not allow us to clarify the information. I hope that as soon as the situation changes, we will be able to return to persuading people to leave the settlement, ”Gladkov said.
He did not specify why the authorities “cannot” enter the territory of the village.
The "Russian Volunteer Corps", fighting on the side of Ukraine, claims that, "despite the assurances of the authorities", the unit's fighters continue to control Novaya Tavolzhanka. The formation's Telegram channel posted a video of armed men in camouflage and with yellow ribbons on their sleeves walking down the street of an unidentified settlement. Where and when the video was recorded is not known exactly. The "agency" claims that the video was filmed on the outskirts of the village.
