Ukraine has enough weapons for a counteroffensive, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said in an interview with Reuters.

Ukraine, according to the agency, has been preparing for several months for an offensive aimed at recapturing the territories occupied by Russia with the help of tanks, armored vehicles and artillery provided by the Western allies.

Kuleba did not say in an interview whether the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had begun. He emphasized that it is important not when the offensive begins, but that it will end with the victory of Ukrainian forces, which will allow Ukraine to join NATO.

“NATO membership cannot stop this war, but NATO membership will stop further wars. That is why the best way to ensure security in the region is to come to the moment when Ukraine becomes a member of NATO,” Kuleba said. According to him, membership in the military alliance "probably" will be possible for Ukraine only after the end of active hostilities.

The minister added that NATO membership is Ukraine's next big goal after it secured that the allies agreed to train Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighter jets.

“We have unlocked all weapons. There is nothing big left to fight for,” Kuleba said.
