
The Petrodvortsovy District Court of St. Petersburg sentenced student Viktor Melnikov to 1.5 years in a penal colony on charges of attempting to set fire to a building with a "military registration and enlistment office" sign, reports the United Press Service of the city's courts. Victor was also prescribed compulsory treatment and outpatient observation by a psychiatrist.
The student was found guilty of “deliberately damaging someone else’s property for hooligan reasons.” . Victor admitted guilt, the case was considered in a special manner. The investigation believes that on September 21, 2022, Viktor threw a Molotov cocktail at a building with a sign “military registration and enlistment office” on Ilikovskaya Street. In fact, the premises are not a military registration and enlistment office, but belong to the structures of the Ministry of Defense.
Melnikov was detained on September 26, 2022. In November, he was sent for an inpatient psychiatric examination at psychiatric hospital No. 6 on Gribakiny.
