A court in St. Petersburg banned Oksimiron’s song “Oida”

The Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg declared rapper Miron Fedorov’s (Oksimiron) song “Oida” and the video for it prohibited from distribution. This was reported by the joint press service of the city courts.

The lawsuit was filed by the prosecutor's office of the Admiralteysky district of St. Petersburg. The department found in the track calls for “violation of the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation.”

The rapper himself was fined 70 thousand rubles in January under a similar administrative article (Part 2 of Article 20.3.2 of the Administrative Code). The prosecutor's office also demanded that the song be removed from Russian streaming platforms - Sber. Sound." "Yandex.Music" and "VKontakte".

Initially, the director of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Mizulina, complained about the track, as she considered the text a call for the separation of St. Petersburg from Russia. At the end of the song there are the lines: “Blow a kiss to beautiful kitties on Obvodny // Ingria will be free.” Ingria is a historical region on the Karelian Isthmus between the Gulf of Finland and Lake Ladoga, on which St. Petersburg is located.

Oksimiron left Russia after the start of the war in Ukraine and gave three concerts Russians against war , the profits from which he transferred to a fund to help Ukrainian refugees. In August 2022, the Moscow prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit to recognize another of his songs, “Last Call,” as extremist. It was granted in October.
