
In occupied Novaya Kakhovka, at least seven people are missing after the dam broke, local “head” of the “administration” Vladimir Leontyev told TASS.
According to him, the village of Korsunka completely went under water. And Dniepryan, Krynki and Cossack Camps were “flooded to the rooftops.” In total, according to TASS, 14 settlements were in the flood zone, from which 900 people were evacuated.
On the right bank of the Dnieper, 1,852 houses were flooded, said the head of the Kherson Regional Administration, Alexander Prokudin. According to him, the water flow is decreasing.
“According to our forecasts, the water level will increase by another meter over the next 20 hours,” Prokudin said. He also said that 1,457 people had already been evacuated from the coastal zone.
According to Mediazona, residents of Oleshek and Golaya Pristan, located 60 and 90 kilometers from Novaya Kakhovka, were unable to go to a safe place; they had to climb onto the roofs.
The curator of Helping to Leave told the publication that his two interlocutors were unable to leave Oleshki because they were not allowed to leave the city without Russian passports.
