Activist Alexei Rozhkov, taken from Kyrgyzstan, was tortured by the FSB

Anti-war activist and anarchist Alexey Rozhkov was tortured by the Yekaterinburg FSB. The Solidarity Zone published his story about his abduction from Kyrgyzstan and torture, according to his lawyer Kamil Isabekov:

“I was detained early in the morning in a rented temporary hut by a large number of operatives, five to seven <...> They brought me to the department, to in a hurry . In the neighboring rooms, the screams of people being tortured could be heard frequently and for a long time. They threatened me with torture if I did not cooperate.

My arrest occurred the morning after I renewed my registration, so I doubt it was a coincidence. I told them about how I did the registration, then they took me to the airport. Upon arrival [in Russia], I was met by the FSB, a bag over my head, a Taser, everything as usual.”

On March 11, 2022, Alexey Rozhkov set fire to a military registration and enlistment office in the suburbs of Yekaterinburg. Then he was detained and placed in a pre-trial detention center on charges of “attempted murder”: the investigation stated that there was a watchman in the building. Six months later, the article was reclassified as “damage to property”; Alexey was released on his own recognizance and left Russia. On June 6, it became known that the activist had been taken out of Kyrgyzstan.
