Two-year-old Palestinian boy wounded by Israeli soldiers dies in hospital

On June 6, in the West Bank village of Nabi Saleh, hundreds of people gathered for the funeral of a two-year-old Palestinian boy, Mohamed Tamimi, who was killed by Israeli forces. The boy and his father were wounded during an Israeli raid on the evening of June 1. Mohamed was taken to an Israeli hospital in critical condition, where he died on June 5.

The Israeli army admitted that it wounded two civilians. The military said it returned fire at two armed Palestinians who were believed to be the first to fire at the Israeli army post. The military also said that they "regret the harm."

The West Bank was occupied by Israel after the Six-Day War in 1967. After that, Israeli citizens began to settle there, and the Israeli army began to conduct anti-Palestinian raids. Over the past year, Israel has held them almost every night.
