At least seven people died in the occupied part of the Kherson region as a result of flooding after the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. This was stated by the "governor" of the region Vladimir Saldo.
According to him, two people were killed as a result of shelling by "Ukrainian militants" of the evacuation zone in Hola Pristan. Also, 62 people were hospitalized from the flooded territories. In total, according to his figures, 5 thousand people were evacuated.
At the same time, according to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, was killed a civilian today as a result of a Russian attack. Another person was hurt. The agency launched a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder.
Earlier, volunteers involved in helping victims of flooding after the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station made an appeal to the Commissioner for Human Rights Tatyana Moskalkova and the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, with a request to let volunteers go to the city of Oleshki to help with the evacuation.
