Russian President Vladimir Putin for the first time commented on the attacks of the Armed Forces on the front line and stated that the Ukrainian offensive began. He stated this to the press at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS in Sochi.
“You can definitely state that this offensive has begun, and this is evidenced by the use of strategic reserves. In none of the fighting sections, Ukrainian troops reached the tasks set for them. <...> Intensible battles last five days. <...> During these days we are observing significant losses of the Ukrainian regime forces. <...> But the offensive potential of the Kyiv regime troops is still preserved, ”Putin said.
The APU offensive on different sections of the front began on Sunday, June 4. The battles are in the area of Bakhmut, on the border of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya regions, as well as in the Orekhov region of the Zaporizhzhya region. On the battlefield, German Leopard Tanks were first used. The Oryx project confirmed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had lost three Leopard 2A6 and 4 BRADLYA BMP tanks.
