In the Savelovsky District Court of Moscow, 16 materials were received about the search. Information about this appeared on the court website; Attention was paid to the project "Network Freedom".

In what case the searches should be carried out is unknown. However, they can be associated with the criminal prosecution of the politician and ex-deputy of the State Duma Ilya Ponomarev under articles on the military “fakes” (paragraph “d” of part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code) and the justification of terrorism (Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). The conduct of a series of searches on these cases in mid -May authorized the Savelovsky court.
“Network freedoms” note that then searches took place two days after the appearance of information about them on the court website.
The first criminal case against Ponomarev was opened in 2015, a year before he became the only deputy who voted against the accession of Crimea to Russia. At that moment, the politician was in the USA, and after that he no longer returned to Russia. In 2015, he was put on an international wanted list. In 2019, Ponomarev received citizenship of Ukraine.
Ilya Ponomarev continues to live in Ukraine. In August 2022, he announced the creation of the “political center of the Armed Russian Opposition” in Kiev, which includes the “National Republican Army”, responsible, according to Ponomarev, for the murder of Daria Dugina. From the beginning of the war, he entered the territorial defense.
The first searches for the “anti-war case” against Ilya Ponomarev were held in September in Moscow , the Moscow Region , Voronezh , the Oryol Region , Yekaterinburg , Tyumen and Rostov-on-Don . The security forces also conducted searches in December 2022 and in May .
In August 2022, Ponomarev was arrested in absentia , and in October they re -put on the wanted list. In the same month, the policy was introduced to the register of "foreign agents". In April, the Prosecutor General’s Office recognized the “unwanted” activity of the Congress of People's Deputies, one of the leaders of which is Ponomarev.
