Russian Major General Goryachev died in the Zaporozhye direction, reported Z-“military correspondent”

Russian General Sergei Goryachev died in the battles in the Zaporozhye direction, reported Z-“military correspondent” Yuri Kotenok.

He commanded the headquarters of the 35th Army and died during rocket fire on June 12 during the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the so-called Vremevsky ledge south of the village of Velikaya Novoselka.

Major General Goryachev is already the 10th Russian general to die in this war. Previously, he commanded a group of troops in Transnistria and a military base of the Russian Armed Forces in Tajikistan.

The counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in different sectors of the front began on June 4. On the night of the 8th, the intensity of the attacks intensified, it was then that analysts first confirmed the use of German Leopard 2 tanks in the southern direction in the Zaporozhye region.

It was Zaporozhye that military experts called the most likely direction of the main attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The task of the Ukrainian army may be access to the coast of the Azov Sea, which will allow cutting off the land corridor to Crimea.

On June 11 and 12, the Ukrainian Armed Forces occupied five villages in the Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions south of Velikaya Novoselka (about 30 km from Ugledar). The parties called this section of the front the Vremevsky salient - now it actually does not exist. According to Z-bloggers, the Ukrainian Armed Forces operate at the “junction of areas of responsibility” of Russian units. The Ukrainians also advanced to Urozhainy and, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, liberated two more villages - Levadnoe and Lobkovo.
